About
Accounting software that stays on your desk.
AcboBooks is built by a small team for small businesses in the United States and Canada who want to keep their own books, on their own computers, and pay for software once.

Your books are yours.
They should live in a file you can copy, back up and hand to whoever you choose — not in a subscription that holds your history.
Correct beats clever.
A ledger that refuses to save an unbalanced entry is worth more than any dashboard built on top of one that will.
Buy it once.
Software you own doesn't change its price, its plan names or its terms after you've built your business on it.
Work without the internet.
Month-end doesn't wait for the connection to come back. Nothing in the core needs a server.
The story
Why we built it

For twenty years the small-business standard for desktop accounting was a program you installed, learned once, and ran for a decade. That option has been disappearing: desktop editions retired, replaced by subscriptions that live on someone else's servers, cost more every year, and need a login to look at your own numbers.
AcboBooks is the desktop option, rebuilt. The workflow a bookkeeper already knows — customers, vendors, items, the register, memorised transactions — on a ledger that enforces double-entry, with payroll, bank feeds and multi-currency included, and a company file that is simply a file.
We don't run a server that sees your data. We don't collect analytics. We sell a licence, send a key, and answer email.
Independence
AcboBooks is independent software. It can import data that QuickBooks® Desktop exports, the way a spreadsheet can. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Intuit Inc. or any other accounting vendor. QuickBooks® is a registered trademark of Intuit Inc.
